How sound absorption works: The product is made of glass fibers just a few microns in diameter, woven into countless tiny pores. When sound waves enter, they reflect and rub against fiber surfaces repeatedly, converting sound energy into heat. Compared to ordinary foam, glasswool performs much better against mid-to-low frequency noise - the dominant frequency range of industrial equipment.
How thermal insulation works: The large amount of still air trapped between fibers acts as an excellent insulating medium, with thermal conductivity as low as 0.034 W/(m·K) - effectively reducing heat or cold loss.
